Catalyst 2.0 is an opportunity:
A brief history of Lucca SA
Once upon a time (in 2006) Lucca Leadership SA was born to a small group of committed and passionate young volunteers. It soon became clear to the volunteers Lucca SA was going to grow bigger than they ever thought possible and so more people joined to help look after it as it just grew and grew.
By Lucca SA’s 3rd birthday it was time to get some bigger shoes and with the help of the new team, Lucca SA made its first steps from a small charity into a growing social enterprise. Lucca SA started getting traction.
Since 2006, we’ve run over 45 courses for over 1600 people who are now committed
to making a difference in whatever way they can.
Those 1600 then pay it forward to their communities, their families, their friends, their work, their world. Our world. And our world gets better one person at a time.
Through a mix of generous donations, the time and efforts of our volunteers, combined with income generated through running courses for other organisations, all of our publicly available programmes are run consciously to include participants who are not in a position to pay for the training themselves.
After just over 5 years of moving from a part-time volunteer led organisation to a fully fledged active social enterprise, we have decided that it’s time for our next great leap!

2012 onwards
The goal of the organisation continues to be to develop transformational leaders. Leaders who serve the needs that they see around them, who make decisions that benefit the greater good, that know there is a time for cooperation and not just competition, that see that we are all part of one single human family, that know that everybody can make a difference and that if they wish to see a different world, that it must begin with them.
The growth that has come about so far is because we are responding to the deep need for leaders who are aware, conscious and kind, across South Africa and throughout all of its brothers and sisters in our world. We will continue to run our projects with the vibrancy and diversity that South Africa offers, so that the Rainbow Nation can be a lighthouse for transformational leadership across the globe.

Catalyst 2.0
Catalyst is an extraordinary opportunity for a group of high impact participants to attend a week-long programme in transformational and facilitative leadership with a one year development programme.
Catalyst 2.0 exists to develop leaders’ capacity to create positive change, as well as the skills needed to share their learnings with all those around them through coaching and facilitation. This ‘pass-it-on’ approach ensures that with minimal resources, we can maximise our impact and trigger an on-going cycle of transformation as we are effectively training the leadership trainers.
The next Catalyst takes place from December 2012 to December 2013 – you can download the application form here.

Thank you’s
We’ve had the most wonderful team, thank you to everyone who has enabled this work to be done, from the coaches, to the facilitators, the sponsors, the ops team for everything that you have given so far! There are too many to mention and we’d hate to leave someone out, so hopefully you know who you are – thank you!

We are also very lucky to have worked with some extraordinary organisations over the past few years, we’ve run courses for the following:
Dance4Life, Ikamva Youth, Teach South Africa, Impact Consulting, CCID, CCDI, Straatwerk, TSIBA University, LEAP Schools, Vuyani Primary School, UWC, Hermanus Rainbow Trust, Hoops 4 Hope as well as representatives from hundreds of organisations.
We’ve loved all of the venues we’ve worked with too, if you ever need a place to run a course, we highly recommend:
Bodhi Khaya, Goedgedacht, Wortelgat, Hearth & Soul and thank you to the schools that have made themselves available for our short courses!

Our Special Guests
Over the years, we have had the privilege to have had guests and speakers who truly represent transformational leadership within South Africa. This is a thank you to the extraordinary Di Oliver, Dennis Goldberg and Ahmed Kathrada for their wisdom, their truth and their beauty and for sharing their stories with us over the years.
A special thank you goes to our Patron, Eddie Daniels who has been an ongoing example to us, year after year, who gifts us with his stories and his presence and his tenacity and we are proud and honoured to be connected with him.

Eddie was jailed in Robben Island for 15 years: “We recall his loyalty and courage; his sense of humour and justice, as well as total commitment to the struggle of the prisoners for the eradication of injustice and for the betterment of their conditions”. Nelson Mandela

We are both grateful and proud to have the wisdom, leadership and love Eddie Daniels brings as a patron to Lucca SA.
