Living Leadership is a 6 day program on living and working as a leader. It builds on learning from the Leadership Foundations program and takes it to greater depths as well as covering exciting new areas.

You learn to use the skills and insights you gained on the Leadership Foundations program on a daily basis, learning to live leadership. A greater amount of the content will be delivered by specialist lecturers. Like our other courses it is all based on Kolb's experiential learning model using a mixture of tuition, practical exercises, dialogue and reflection.

Who should attend

Participants must have completed the Lucca Leadership 'Leadership Foundations' program to attend. If you apply and have not attended the Leadership Foundation Program your application will not be evaluated. You must also be over 18 to attend this course.

Duration of the course

This is a 6 day residential program, with participants arriving the evening before we formally start the program and leaving the morning of the last day. The accommodation will be shared bedrooms and bathrooms depending on the location of the course and the venue used.

Program content

Day 1

Pathways to Insight 

This workshop opens the course by giving simple practical exercises that help you to develop your potential and draw more fully on your inner resources.

Qualities of Leadership

The afternoon will look at some of the qualities of great leadership and reference the work done by Jim Collins in his reserach article "The Triumph of Humility and Fierce Resolve"

Day 2

Speech 

Day 2 gives the entire day to develop your capacity as a public speaker. You will learn how to lead through speech with our expert external facilitators.

Day 3

Team Building 

This session looks at how to build and develop a successful team, by using some simple guidelines and frameworks that have been developed by the Hay Group.

Flow 

Studying the research of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi you can start to look at the concept of FLOW. During the workshop you will learn how to develop and build FLOW as a leader for you and your team. 

Day 4

Case Studies 

Each location where the program is run will spend a day looking at well-known figures who have brought about transformation and been powerful examples in the past and in our time.

Day 5

Coaching 

You will spend time looking at coaching and how to allow people to develop their full potential. This workshop allows you to learn the theory and principles behind coaching and how to apply them in relevant situations. You will look at simple listening and questioning techniques using the GROW model.

Day 6

Resilience

Building on the work during the previous days you will re examine the Personal Mastery framework and take it even further by developing your Resilience to be a transformational leader. This day will allow for individual, paired and group reflection on how you can be more resilient to meet the challenges leaders face.

We empower people to make a difference in their communities. We specialize in facilitating courses that increase participants' confidence, awareness and effectiveness in leading positive change. We offer a limited number of program and travel bursaries, but do not support people or projects financially beyond this. We offer coaching during and mentoring directly after programmes.
