Transformational Leadership

What is it?

Transformational leadership is the ability to bring about change which uplifts and benefits humanity, through meeting its needs, and developing its capabilities.

A transformational leader is one who is able to connect with their true passion, intent and inner wisdom, in order to unlock their potential for the good of all.

It is an approach to leadership that creates sustainable solutions, and avoids solutions that benefit some at the expense of others.

Lucca Leadership programs focus on transformational leadership in two ways. Firstly, they help develop and access the inner resources of the leader. In this aspect, Lucca Leadership helps leaders be aware of what is going on within them, their intent, their visions, their actions. It helps them to draw more fully on the whole range of capabilities and energies in delivering their leadership, it helps them to stay fresh and strong in the service of the need in front of them. Secondly, Lucca Leadership programs help to deliver the skills and abilities required to deliver this leadership in practice. These are the abilities to give direction, set up tasks and projects and ensure delivery, and to develop and grow the people who work with and around the leader. Transformational leadership requires the understanding of and engagement with people individually and in society and the ability to work with this understanding in the service of one’s own society. Participants in these programs will be better able to meet the needs of the community and society in which they live through service as transformational leaders, and help to bring about change which uplifts those it touches.

How does it work?

Transformational Leadership begins with awareness – awareness of our own thoughts and feelings, and how these affect our actions. As this awareness grows, we see our own inner motivating force, what drives us - our passions and values - and how these affect our thoughts, feelings and actions.

As we become more aware our perception increases, and we are able to choose actions that directly meet the needs of the situation and people around us. Transformational Leadership inspires wholeness of being, so our thoughts, feelings and actions are consistent. We lead with an integrity and authenticity that resonates with others, and inspires them to follow.

This approach to leadership takes us from a constricting model of competition between individuals, teams or nations, to a connection with the whole of a situation, and leadership for the good of all. We move from making a sale at any cost towards creating lasting relationships and seeking socially responsible outcomes; it takes us from a narrow focus primarily on the bottom line, to realising a sustainable vision that contributes to the welfare of humanity.
