Mentors
Information on Lucca Leadership's Mentoring process.
Lucca Leadership Mentors
The Mentoring Network is a central aspect of the Lucca Leadership’s development:
- Mentors support the learning of participants after the Leadership Foundations Programme through advice and inspiration
- The experience of the mentors offers a practical aide to the participants in the delivery of the projects
- It allows people over the age of 30 to be involved with Lucca Leadership by developing young leaders who can make the difference
What is the role of a Lucca Leadership Mentor?
- To help participants realise their leadership potential and the learning from the programme as they work on a concrete project
- A successful project is a sign of learning, and is desirable, but is not an end in itself for the mentor. Grow the goose…get golden eggs. The mentor's focus is the goose!
The Mentoring Process
- Mentors and participants will be matched during the Leadership Foundations Programme on the basis of location, project and skills
- Mentors will meet with their participants usually once a month, ideally face to face. Mentors should be willing to be contacted by mail/phone and bear the cost of this
- The commitment should be for a minimum of a year, although some of the projects may last longer
Support and Training from Lucca Leadership
- There is a Training and Assessment Programme, Mentor Training, which will set up a potential mentor with the skills and knowledge they require. For more information on this programme, please click here
- Lucca Leadership will supply you with a Mentor Training Pack
- The Mentor Co-ordinator will be the prime point of contact, with another Lucca Leadership team member being in touch with both parties after 4 and 8 months
- Lucca Leadership will officially "close" the process at the end of the period and receive feedback with which to evaluate
