Lucca is a place not an acronym! As the idea of creating a leadership development organisation for young people was being put together by David Boddy, our founder, we were fortunate to be offered the use of a beautiful villa in Tuscany, Italy, just outside the city of Lucca. The venue was specially adapted for our needs and its location near the great city of Florence (birthplace of the Italian Renaissance) was an added inspiration to us. We do not own the villa, but we and other young people's charities are free to hire it at a discounted rate. Today our courses are run in similarly peaceful, reflective and inspiring locations all over the world, but Lucca is our starting point and our home (www.villaboccella.com)
